I have some aida band I’d wanted to use for a while, but I hadn’t found a purpose for it yet. Somewhere I ran across a mention of a needle book done with embroidered band – perfect match!
I doodled up a pattern based on a band pattern found in Sajou booklet 657, published in 1895. It needed a little something more, so I added twist borders to fill the band perfectly.
A bit of pretty green ribbon holds it securely shut. Save the ribbons that come with gift packaging, or anything else where the ribbon might otherwise be thrown away – I can’t count the number of times an old scrap of ribbon was just the thing for a new project!
