Silver embroidered scroll design on dark blue dupioni fabric

Block 45 of the Embroiderer’s Progress Quilt, is the Blue Scrolly Thing. The design is from Mary Corbet’s Needle ‘n Thread and was one of my first embroidery projects. It’s done in stem stitch with silver-colored DMC floss on a ground of polyester imitation dupioni, and was originally intended for a pillow, but first I didn’t have a place for a blue and silver pillow, and then my circumstances changed and I still didn’t have a place, so in the quilt it goes.

Completed mid-2009, I think. I was quite delighted to find that this piece hadn’t been lost in the divorce move.
